Serbian President Boris Tadic and Montenegrin counterpart Filip Vujanovic say the two countries have achieved significant results in fighting organized crime. Vujanovic told a joint news conference after the meeting that the agreement on extradition signed recently between the two countries shows their willingness to uncompromisingly crackdown on organized crime. President Tadic visits Montenegro Tadic said that the progress made in the fight against organized crime is an example of effective cooperation between the two countries and a contribution to public security and economic safety of the two countries. The two presidents supported the endeavors of Serbia and Montenegro for European integration, noting that success of one country constitutes support for the other. Vujanovic expressed his conviction that Serbia is doing everything in cooperation with the Hague Tribunal and that it is fully committed to finding, arresting and extraditing the remaining two Hague fugitives. It is in Montenegro' interest that Serbia make progress in EU integration, Vujanovic said. The Serbian president said that bilateral economic cooperation is very good, but that it can be fostered further in the future. Tadic congratulated Montenegro on its progress in European integration, adding that he expects Montenegro to become a candidate for EU membership very soon. Such a political breakthrough is important for the security of the entire region. It is essential that the countries of the former Yugoslavia support one another in their foreign policy goals, Tadic said. He also expressed his support to Montenegro's endeavors for joining NATO. Serbia has not expressed intention to become a member of that organization now, but remains within the Partnership for Peace program, he added. Tadic once again advocated the idea of Scandinavian model of having joint diplomatic and consular missions that could be used by the ex Yugoslavia countries. This would raise the efficiency of foreign policy and prove to the EU that these countries are acting rationally, the president said. Serbia remains firmly on the path to European integration because the EU has no alternative he said. Tadic also conferred with Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic and leader of the Socialist People's Party (SNP) Srdjan Milic, but did not meet with Montenegrin Parliament Speaker Ranko Krivokapic. While in Podgorica, Tadic attended a business forum and officially opened the premises of the office of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS). Tadic and Vujanovic in Podgorica today (Beta)
