IMF forecasts growth and inflation

The economic growth rate in Serbia this year will be 1.5 percent and the inflation rate will be 4.6 percent. This is according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) prediction, found in its October review of macroeconomic indicators for the IMF members. IMF forecasts growth and inflation When it comes to Serbia, the IMF noted that a three percent growth rate should be expected in the country in 2011, while the inflation rate should drop slightly compared to 2009, it was posted on the IMF website Thursday. According to the predicted economic growth rates, in 2010 and 2011 Serbia will be one of the countries with the highest economic growth rate in the Western Balkan region. At the same time, the IMF predicts that during the current and the next year, Serbia will also have the biggest inflation rate among the former Yugoslavia countries. The IMF, however, estimates than Serbia's neighbor Romania, an EU member country, will have even bigger inflation rate - 5.9 percent in 2010 and 5.2 percent in 2011.
