Rasim Ljajic says he would "like to know the specific remarks of Hague Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz regarding Serbia's cooperation with the Hague Tribunal". The president of the National Council for Cooperation with the Hague Tribunal said that the remarks in question would have to concern issues "apart from the fact that there is no final result meaning that Ratko Mladic is not in The Hague". Official reacts to Brammertz statements Brammertz addressed a Dutch parliamentary committee yesterday. Ljajic told reporters in Belgrade on Thursday that there was no continuous communication between the Serbian authorities and the Hague Tribunal. “However, in the contacts with the Hague Tribunal, we have not heard any specific remarks on our work, though we would welcome any suggestions or recommendations, and we would like to hear which are the requirements that we have not met and which actions were not carried out properly,” Ljajic said. Ljajic, who is the Serbian minister of labor and social policy, stated that although Brammertz was cautious not to have his engagement qualified as political, but his call for pressure on Serbia might be characterized as entering the political field. “Nevertheless, we will continue to cooperate with the Hague Tribunal, given that our interest to extradite Mladic to The Hague is greater than the one of Hague Tribunal. Serbia has been most sanctioned for not having extradited Mladic to The Hague, and it is the only party which would benefit from it,” Ljajic said. He believes that Mladic's network of assistants has been reduced to the minimum, since larger network would entail much more risk that Mladic might leave trace. Ljajic claims that Mladic is aware of the fact, and that it was proved that when no one looked for him, he had a large network of assistants, which was later reduced. The network does not include any state organ, the minister underlined. “Not for a moment did we claim that Mladic is not in Serbia. We have stated that our activities are carried out as if he was in Serbia, but that we have no other concrete trace on his whereabouts,” he said.
