MPs to discuss bill on accreditation The bill defines the Accreditation Board of Serbia (ATS) as a public service which is in charge of the accreditation system in Serbia and represents the very top of the quality infrastructure system. Accreditation is defined as assessment of compliance of products, processes and services with technical regulations and standards, while the quality assurance is carried out by expert and technically-competent bodies, such as laboratories, certification and control bodies. Moreover, accreditation is optional, unless proscribed differently by some other act. The bill envisages that the accreditation tasks are performed exclusively by the ATS, which will be financed from the state budget and by collection of accreditation costs.
