Justice ministries resume extradition talks

Representatives of the ministries of justice of Serbia and Montenegro today will resume talks on an agreement on mutual extradition of their citizens. In the first phase of the talks, representatives of the ministries of the two states reached an agreement on allowing extradition of perpetrators of the most serious crimes, such as organized crime, corruption, money laundering and war crimes. Justice ministries resume extradition talks The talks will resume on Monday on other criminal acts that should be included in the agreement. The talks are expected to end by the end of the week. Serbia has issued warrants for the arrest of about two dozen of Montenegrin citizens, including members of the drug-trafficking group of Darko Saric, indicted for cocaine smuggling from South America - Goran Sokovic, Dejan Sekularac, Boris Laban, Drasko Vukovic and Darko Tosic, whose extradition Serbia will be able to request after the agreement is signed. The number of Serbian citizens whose extradition Montenegro might request is about a dozen.
