DS official: We can work with SNS

President of the ruling Democrats' Political Council Dragoljub Micunovic has stated that his party could work together with the opposition SNS. This could come to pass, said he, if SNS accepted the program of the Democratic Party (DS) "without hesitation". DS official: We can work with SNS He told B92 that the Progressives were currently advocating the same goals as DS but that "there was hesitation regarding Kosovo". Micunovic stressed that SNS, "in order to attract voters, started weighing pro-European and patriotic policy". He explained that anyone who accepted the DS program on European integrations, accelerated adjustment to European legislation and standards and involvement in the economic world of Europe, U.S., China and Russia was welcome to the coalition. “In the Serbian government there is no wavering about the basic lines,” the DS official said and pointed out that opposition’s call for early parliamentary elections was unrealistic, as it would be "expensive and unnecessary, if the government is able to function". Micunovic announced that a meeting of the DS main board would be held on October 2 and that the party was "preparing for internal reforms and a serious discussion about the party", including personel issues. “Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic’s work and results that have been achieved regarding Kosovo in the UN General Assembly in New York will also be discussed and evaluated at the DS main board,” he added.
