Opposition New Serbia (NS) party leader Velimir Ilic says the opposition parties will open talks Wednesday about organizing a rally. The gathering should be held after the September 9 session of the UN General Assembly that should discuss Serbia's resolution on Kosovo and Metohija, said he. Opposition to stage rally after UNGA “We did not want to stage a rally until the UN procedure is over. We let (the authorities) do what they want, but we demand results. If there are no results, we will request elections,” Ilic said at a press conference. Ilic evaluated that there is "someone abroad" who would like to draw the resolution on Kosovo and Metohija and make it a subject to mere formalities before it is presented before the UN. He said that the meeting will be organized together with the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) and other small opposition parties. Ilic said that the talks with the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) will continue, adding that it is possible that some parties from the ruling coalition will take part in the rally, but he did not want to state their names. Ilic said that it will be decided during the talks whether the rally will be staged in some city in central Serbia first or be held only in Belgrade. The NS leader believes that the citizens of Serbia are unsatisfied and that therefore, elections are necessary.
