MPs spend millions from budget on gasoline

In the first six months of the year, MPs have spent RSD 35mn on gasoline, filling their gas tanks with 295,000 liters. According to daily Vecernje novosti, this money was spent on driving to parliamentary sessions in their private cars. Money is given for a maximum of 250 kilometers traveled in both directions. If the trip is longer than that, the MP pays the difference from his or her own pocket. Those who are renting apartments in Belgrade do not have a right to gas money and are allowed to take out RSD 35,000 for rent from the budget. By parties, United Serbia (JS) has spent RSD 337,514, with leader Dragan Markovic spending about RSD 100,000 to come to meetings from Jagodina. LDP has spent RSD 204,000, New Serbia RSD 1.7mn, SDP has spent RSD 754,553, SPO RSD 521,085, and SPS has spent RSD 1.4mn. PUPS officials rent apartments in Belgrade.
