President Boris Tadic attended the ceremony marking the 15th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide. The war crimes were committed by the Republic of Srpska (RS) Army against Muslims in Srebrenica in 1995. Tadic attends Srebrenica commemoration The commemoration was held at the Potocari Memorial Center near Srebrenica on Sunday. Tadic's message will be that the regional reconciliation process can be completed only if all nations agree to take responsibility for the crimes that certain individuals committed on their behalf, his media office stated earlier in the day. There was also be a mass funeral of 775 identified Srebrenica victims held. Tadic placed a wreath at the memorial complex in Potocari that read “To the innocent victims, from Serbian President Boris Tadic.” At the entrance of the memorial complex, Tadic met with three mothers of the victims of the Srebrenica genocide who told him that his visit to Srebrenica today means a lot to them. Tadic said before the collective funeral began that he sends his condolences and remorse for the crimes that occurred. He said that “Serbia will not give up on finding the perpetrators of war crimes, especially Ratko Mladic,” in order for the people of the region to be able to continue to live together. According to the announcements, the commemoration will be attended by Chairman of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency Haris Silajdzic and Croat member of the BiH Presidency Zeljko Komsic, Montenegrin President Filip Vujanovic and top Croatian, Macedonian and Slovenian officials. High Representative in Bosnia Valentin Inzko and other representatives of international organizations in Bosnia, as well as members the diplomatic corps, will also attend the ceremony. The U.S. delegation will be headed by U.S. Ambassador to BiH Charles English, and in accordance with the decision of U.S. President Barack Obama, the delegation will include Ambassador-at-Large for War Crimes Issues Stephen J. Rapp and Special Assistant to U.S. President and Senior Director for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights at the National Security Council Samantha Power. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner are also expected to attend the commemoration. It is yet unknown whether the commemoration will be attended by Republic of Srpska officials and Serb representatives in the BiH joint institutions. Sunday, July 11, will be a day of mourning in the Bosnian Federation and Brcko district, and it is estimated that 50,000 people will attend the commemoration in Potocari.
