President Boris Tadic announced that his forthcoming talks in Podgorica will focus on economic and political matters. According to the president, these will include the resolution of the issues of state border and the part of the border line between Serbia and Montenegro in the area of Kosovo and Metohija. Tadic: Border with Montenegro on agenda Tadic said in an interview for the Montenegro's state broadcaster RTCG late on Monday that he would reiterate to his Montenegrin hosts that the matter of boundary demarcation can only be discussed with Serbia, and stressed that the Kosovo issue remains a great burden in the relations between the two countries. “That is also a particularly delicate matter due to one fact - Montenegro and Serbia are neighboring countries separated by a border line which is also defined in the area of Kosovo-Metohija,” Tadic said. “If one country recognizes the independence of a part of some other country, of a province or entity of some other country, than that poses a huge problem and burden which requires great effort to be solved,” the Serbian president noted, stressing that it would have to be dealt with “under the new difficult circumstances that have arisen after Montenegro recognized Kosovo's independence”. Tadic noted that the issue of suspected drug kingpin Darko Saric - a Montenegrin with Serbian passport - was no obstacle to furthering bilateral relations, adding that there was no political background in that respect and that the fight against organized crime was of mutual interest. “What Serbia wants is the narco cartel to be fought off throughout the region and that the type of cooperation we have with American and European institutions is established here as well,” the Serbian president said refuting Montenegrin officials' accusations that Serbia is interfering with Montenegro's internal matters. Tadic will arrive on a two-day official visit to Montenegro on Wednesday, where he will confer with Montenegrin President Filip Vujanovic, Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic, Parliament Speaker Ranko Krivokapic, Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral Amfilohije, and the New Serb Democracy leader Andrija Mandic.
