Kosovska Mitrovica doctor laid to rest

Several thousand citizens attended the funeral on Saturday of local doctor Mesud Džeković, who was killed in an explosion on Friday during Serb protests.

Several thousand citizens attended the funeral on Saturday of local doctor Mesud Dzekovic, who was killed in an explosion on Friday during Serb protests. Along with family, friends and neighbors, Serbian Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanovic, Serbian parliamentary MPs and local government officials also attended the funeral service. Kosovska Mitrovica doctor laid to rest Director of the local health center Milan Jakovljevic gave the eulogy for his colleague, who said that Dzekovic worked for a long time with him as a pediatrician and that the health institution would make sure that his children receive an education. The road between Kosovska Mitrovica and Zvecan was closed for about half an hour because of the large crowds that wished to attend the funeral. The local district also announced a day of mourning on Saturday. There are still ten people who were injured in Friday’s blast who are in the hospital receiving treatment.

Director of the local health center Milan Jakovljević gave the eulogy for his colleague, who said that Džeković worked for a long time with him as a pediatrician and that the health institution would make sure that his children receive an education.

The road between Kosovska Mitrovica and Zvečan was closed for about half an hour because of the large crowds that wished to attend the funeral.

The local district also announced a day of mourning on Saturday.

There are still ten people who were injured in Friday’s blast who are in the hospital receiving treatment.
