The cooperation between the Serbian and Italian armed forces is good, said the Serbian and Italian army chiefs, who met today in Belgrade. Generals Miloje Miletic and Vincenzo Camporini said there was mutual interest and willingness to improve that cooperation further in the future. Serbian, Italian army chiefs meet After the meeting with his Italian colleague, the Serbian Army chief of the general staf, Lt. Gen. Miloje Miletic, told reporters that the cooperation so far included training and education, adding that since 2005, 59 members of the Serbian military and the Defense Ministry attended Italian military institutions for education. Miletic also noted that the Italian military donated EUR 600,000 worth of mine clearing equipment to Serbia in 2009, and that the two forces conducted joint training. According to Miletic, an education agreement was also signed in 2009, and they are currently harmonizing an agreement regarding military geography. Camporini said that the ideas for improvements in cooperation were good, and that there was mutual interest to better that cooperation in the future. Camporini reiterated Italy's support for Serbia's EU integration. The Italian army chief will visit the Serbian Army Special Brigade and Anti-Aircraft Defense Brigade during his two-day stay here.
