Bosnian Presidency representative from the Republic of Srpska (RS) Nebojsa Radmanovic said that Serbia is a key factor for regional stability. He said that Belgrade officials are sticking to the principle that countries of the region cannot become EU member-states without good neighborly relations. Bosnian presidency official: Serbia sticking to principles Radmanovic said that Serbian President Boris Tadic is showing that he is the leader of the region in terms of improving cooperation between countries. Radmanovic told daily Vecernje novosti that relations between Serbia and RS are at a very high level. He said that the signing of the Istanbul declaration has not damaged relations between Belgrade and Banja Luka, adding that RS does not take offence with Serbia for signing the agreement, but with Bosnian presidency official Haris Silajdzic, who signed the agreement without an agreement reached within the Bosnia-Herzegovina presidency. Commenting the adoption of the Srebrenica resolution by the Serbian parliament, he said that “Serbia has the right to adopt what it thinks is useful for it. The stance of RS is that it would be better for Serbia to have one declaration that condemns all regional crimes, and that is what everyone else should do as well.” He said that because of Serbia’s geo-strategic position and influence, regional stabilization is not possible without it. Sarajevo politicians must understand that Bosnia-Herzegovina cannot move forward without good relations with its neighbors, especially Serbia, Radmanovic said. He said that it is unacceptable for Turkey to be improving relations between Bosnia and Serbia. Their help is welcomed, but it cannot be decisive, he said. Nebojsa Radmanovic (FoNet archive)
