Less than one thousand people decided to spend May Day fighting for the rights of workers in protests around Serbia. Even though a central workers’ protest was planned to be held in Krusevac on May 1 for International Workers' Day, hardly one hundred people answered the call of the union leaders. Workers demand better conditions Workers also protested in Belgrade and Kragujevac. The Program for Social Progress organization held protests in Kragujevac, demanding from the Serbian government a doubling of wages this year, a decrease in taxes, and the sharing of profits. Metal workers from Kragujevac, Smedervska Palanka, Valjevo, Nis, Krusevac, Trstenik, Jagodina, Cacak and Uzice also protested, calling for concrete help instead of empty promises from the government.

Workers also protested in Belgrade and Kragujevac.

The Program for Social Progress organization held protests in Kragujevac, demanding from the Serbian government a doubling of wages this year, a decrease in taxes, and the sharing of profits.

Metal workers from Kragujevac, Smedervska Palanka, Valjevo, Niš, Kruševac, Trstenik, Jagodina, Čačak and Užice also protested, calling for concrete help instead of empty promises from the government.
