Tadic’s cabinet stated that the goal of the meeting is to invest efforts into strengthening peace and stability in the region. The President said that Serbia wants a final solution for Kosovo and not a frozen situation, adding that Belgrade is ready to negotiate in order to reach a solution of compromise, but not one in which Serbia losses everything and the Albanians win. Because of existing situations like Cyprus, Serbia wants a final solution for Kosovo, not a frozen situation in which Kosovo will never become an UN member-state, because Serbia will never allow it, Tadic told Jazeera. Results in politics never come from being rigid, but from flexibility, Tadic said in his interview with Al Jazeera. “We will continue leading policies towards reaching a compromise, but the policies regarding Kosovo, in which we defend our integrity and international law, do not mean that we will stop from trying to become an EU member-state. Serbia will never give up on that, it is our main strategic goal,” Tadic said. He said that Kosovo independence will never be recognized by a countries like Spain, Romania, Slovakia, and Cyprus, adding that Serbia respects the territorial integrity of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
