Kosovo Albanian PM Hashim Thaci has decided to replace Kosovo police, KPS, General Director Sheremet Ahmeti, according to local media in Pristina. According to media reports, the decision to dismiss Ahmeti will be made public on Tuesday, but government spokesperson Memli Krasniqi told KiM Radio that there has been no official decision yet. Reports: Thaci dismisses KPS official Thaci, according to Albanian language daily Express, decided to name Behar Selimi, the current "deputy director of the border police", as Ahmeti’s replacement. The daily also stated that Ahmeti "will be remembered as a police director during whose mandate progress was achieved in the work of KPS" – up until the moment when 50 kilograms of heroin disappeared from KPS headquarters along with a large amount of seized money. Both the drugs and money were seized over a period of time all around Kosovo as part of fighting drug trafficking and crime, the daily reported.
