Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said in Tirana on Thursday that cooperation between region police is needed to prevent drug trafficking. "All reports, including the report of U.S. security services, say that the Balkans are a major transit area, and that almost 80 percent of all heroin which comes to Europe from Afghanistan crosses this territory," Dacic said at the Annual Ministerial Conference on Cooperation in the Field of Border Security in Southeast Europe. The Justice Ministers of the two countries met on February 25 to discuss the issue, at which time the meeting of prosecution officials was scheduled.

Officials of the Serbian and Montenegrin prosecutions will be meeting in Belgrade on Friday to discuss their disagreements related to the case of wanted drug kingpin Darko Šarić.

The Justice Ministers of the two countries met on February 25 to discuss the issue, at which time the meeting of prosecution officials was scheduled.
