Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic denied allegations that Serbia was protecting Gen. Ratko Mladic, Beta reports. Mladic is the former military leader of Bosnia's Serbs and has been indicted by the Hague Tribunal for genocide against non-Serbs in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Prosecutor: Serbia not hiding Mladic Speaking in The Hague, at the international conference devoted to the legacy of the Hague Tribunal, Vukcevic stressed that the Belgrade authorities “will solve that problem”. At the same gathering, head of the Citizens' Association Mothers of Srebrenica Munira Subasic asked Prosecutor Vukcevic "how long will Serbia hide Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic," suggesting that the Serbian authorities knew the two fugitives' location. "Serbia is not hiding Mladic and I think that is clear to everyone after the arrest of Radovan Karadzic. That is not true and we will complete the task," Vukcevic replied. When Subasic also asked whether he thought the Serbian parliament should pass a resolution condemning the genocide in Srebrenica, akin to the one recently passed by the European Parliament, Vukcevic replied affirmatively. "The same resolution as the one passed by the European Parliament should also be passed by the Serbian parliament," the prosecutor said. The meeting in The Hague is also being attended by representatives of the judiciary, governments and NGOs from Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, host country the Netherlands, and several international organizations, such as the OSCE and the UN.

Speaking in The Hague, at the international conference devoted to the legacy of the Hague Tribunal, Vukčević stressed that the Belgrade authorities “will solve that problem”.

At the same gathering, head of the Citizens' Association Mothers of Srebrenica Munira Subašić asked Prosecutor Vukčević "how long will Serbia hide Ratko Mladić and Goran Hadžić," suggesting that the Serbian authorities knew the two fugitives' location.

"Serbia is not hiding Mladić and I think that is clear to everyone after the arrest of Radovan Karadžić. That is not true and we will complete the task," Vukčević replied.

When Subašić also asked whether he thought the Serbian parliament should pass a resolution condemning the genocide in Srebrenica, akin to the one recently passed by the European Parliament, Vukčević replied affirmatively.

"The same resolution as the one passed by the European Parliament should also be passed by the Serbian parliament," the prosecutor said.

The meeting in The Hague is also being attended by representatives of the judiciary, governments and NGOs from Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, host country the Netherlands, and several international organizations, such as the OSCE and the UN.
