“Indonesia will not recognize Kosovo”

Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Oliver Dulic has met with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Dulic thanked Yudhoyono for his position regarding the status of Kosovo, during their talks in Bali. “Indonesia will not recognize Kosovo” “As the most populous Muslim country Indonesia has a strong influence among other Asian, and African countries, and its support to our efforts to reach a solution for the Kosovo status by compromise represents a great backing for Serbia’s state policy,” Dulic said. The Indonesian president pointed out that respect of international law was a foundation of foreign policy for Indonesia, adding that his country would not recognize the illegally declared independence of Kosovo. “The Serbian minister and Yudhoyono spoke about the work of the Governing Council of the Global Ministerial Environment Forum of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and about the possibility to produce a joint text of a declaration which represents a balanced political document for achieving sustainability of environment in the world,” the Serbian Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning has announced. Dulic is visiting Indonesia as president of the Governing Council of the Global Ministerial Environment Forum of the UNEP, which consists of 140 environment ministers from all over the world.
