The opposition SNS say they have gathered more than 700,000 signatures from citizens backing their campaign to hold early elections in Serbia. SNS official Marko Djuric told a news conference in Belgrade on Sunday that the figure was yet another proof that the current government had lost its legitimacy. 700,000 signatures for early elections "The government has seen political bankruptcy and a crisis of legitimacy," said Djuric, accusing it of "not working in the interest of the citizens". The signature collecting campaign will continue on Monday, when SNS and NS leaders Tomislav Nikolic and Velimir Ilic are expected to join their parties' activists in downtown Belgrade.
