The working group for developing a new law on the financing of political parties will begin working on Monday. “The idea is for the law to be passed before the new elections, and we expect that it will be on the parliamentary agenda by October,” Justice Ministry State Secretary Slobodan Homen said. He said that this is an absurd situation, because it was up to the political parties who make up the parliament to control and report on themselves. He said that the Agency for the Fight Against Corruption will be controlling the facts behind the reports on the financing of political parties, and that the State Auditing Institution would help as well.
