Serbian police (MUP) today placed an associate of SPC Bishop Artemije under arrest, reports said. Rade Neimar construction center Director Predrag Suboticki is suspected of embezzling EUR 300,000, that were meant for reconstructions of monasteries in Kosovo and Metohija from 2004 until 2009. Bishop's associate arrested Reports also said that the suspect is has close ties with the family of Simeon Vilovski, who is the bishop's secretary, and is reportedly on the run. Earlier today, Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said that the police had started an investigation into irregularities that occurred in the Raska-Prizren Eparchy finances. The investigation was launched on the basis of charges filed by the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC), Dacic said in Belgrade. The SPC Holy Synod of Bishops suspended Bishop Artemije from his duties in the eparchy on February 13, and appointed Bishop Atanasije instead.
