Sixteen Serb families have returned to the village of Laplje Selo near Pristina. The apartments for the returnees were provided by the Kosovo government and the Return and Community Ministry. Serbs return to Laplje Selo Sixty apartments were built for returnees in the village. The families were displaced during the Kosovo conflicts and were temporarily living in central Serbia. The returnees also received food and basic hygiene products to last them two monthS. The UNHCR will also be offering them similar aid for six months. UNHCR Chief for Kosovo Herman Stuurwold attended the ceremony of handing over the keys to the apartments to the returning families. “Even though you see that it is still winter, the return is happening. We are making efforts towards increase these numbers, and that is very obvious,” he said. Kosovo Return Minister Sasa Rasic said that there will be more returnees coming back to Kosovo this year.
