Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic will attend St. Sava Day celebrations in Bijelo Polje, northern Montenegro, the MFA told Tanjug. Jeremic informed his Montenegrin counterpart Milan Rocen about his visit on Tuesday afternoon, as stated in Podgorica, and explained that he is coming upon the invitation of Serbian Orthodox Church Bishop Joanikije. According to Tanjug, “this put an end to speculation in Montenegrin media, which reported about Jeremic's visit by quoting ‘sources close to Montenegrin authorities’ that the Serbian minister would ‘bypass the state bodies of Montenegro’.” St. Sava, who died in 1235, was the first patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church, and is considered patron saint of education and schools in Serbia.
