The health of 86 miners of a bauxite mine in northern Montenegro has deteriorated after they spent six days protesting in the pits. Their representative Marko Nikolic says that 16 strikers had received medical treatment, six of which were kept in a hospital in the northern town of Niksic, diagnosed with pneumonia. Striking miners' health "deteriorates" Nikolic called on "all relevant institutions in Montenegro, unions, representatives of human rights protection groups and citizens" to gather in order to "send an appeal for the salvation of the miners". The miners are demanding to be paid overdue wages. The mine is owned by Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska's En+ Group operation – the Central European Aluminum Company (CEAC).
