State Auditor Radoslav Sretenovic said that complaints against those who used budget funds irregularly will be submitted after January 1. The President of the State Audit Institution (DRI) told B92 that a final analysis has not been completed by the ministries for budget spending in 2008, adding that if no complaints are filed in the next four days for misuses, they will be submitted early next year. DRI to file complaints in January “Just have some patience for us to do our jobs by the end of the year,” Sretenovic said, adding that media call him every day to ask when the complaints will be filed. Commenting the statements of some ministers that the DRI made mistakes in the report on budget spending in 2009, Sretenovic said that the ministers were able to appeal the report, which they did not do. “I did not receive any new evidence at any time that would convince me that we made mistakes… So, there are no mistakes,” Sretenovic said. Asked whether some ministers from Vojislav Kostunica’s government that were replaced by Mirko Cvetkovic’s ministers would avoid responsibility, the DRI president said that it is up to that institution to confirm whether there were misuses by all ministers, old and new. He added that there was no pressure on the DRI to change its report and that "no one will be spared". Since the 2010 budget plans more money for the DRI, Sretenovic said that there will be an increased number of personnel, and that people working in the institution will not be receiving pay raises.
