Political analyst Zoran Stoiljkovic said that Sunday’s election results in the Belgrade municipality of Vozdovac were expected. He added that there is a possibility that new general elections in Serbia could take place in the second half of 2010. The growth trend of the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) continued with a victory that took more than a third of the vote, taking over the Radical Party’s (SRS) voters and coming into the position of being able to form a coalition in Vozdovac with the DSS-NS coalition. Stoiljkovic said that DS "did not have poor election results or a loss", but that there is "no reason to be too satisfied", and that the party must “profile” itself. He added that citizens are not content with the political elite and want a "more responsible and less corrupt government".
