Cedomir Jovanovic said that pulling the Vojvodina statute from parliamentary procedures today shows the government’s incompetence. The opposition Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leader stated that further postponement of the confirmation of the Vojvodina statute draft in parliament "is an obstacle to other important political reforms". LDP leader on statute withdrawal “Today’s withdrawal of the statute from the procedures shows that the ruling coalition is not capable to, in a decent manner, finish this agony which they have dragged Serbia and Vojvodina into,” Jovanovic said. He added that the citizens of Vojvodina "deserve a decent statute", rather than “pointless and contradictory rhetoric that, according to the demand of coalition partners, is being pushed into the proposal at the last moment in a sloppy manner”. “This agony has become an obstacle for the further reforms and political projects in the country,” Jovanovic said, adding that his party will vote for the statute and accompanying laws in order to "stop the damage" that is being caused by the further postponement of this issue. He said that this is the only way to open room "for Serbia and Vojvodina" to focus on the "real political jobs" and "European reforms".
