The new UN Development Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative in Kosovo is Osnat Lubrani, it was announced in Pristina today. Lubrani, born in Jerusalem and holding a dual Israeli-American passport, will be replacing Frode Mauring starting October 30, UNDP said. UNDP appoints new Pristina head Lubrani previously served as UNIFEM’s Regional Director for Central and Eastern Europe, overseeing programs to advance women’s empowerment and rights in context of transition and post-conflict recovery. She also worked with UNDP in Skopje, Macedonia, to support the country office in adapting its programs in response to the 2001 crisis, said a statement. During the 1990s she worked as a consultant in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo on human rights, peace building and development projects.
