Law on military intelligence agencies

The Serbian parliament on Monday a law on Military Intelligence Agency (VOA) and Military Security Agency (VBA). The legislation will create the conditions needed to continue the reform of the defense and military security services, conducted as part of the overall defense system reform. Law on military intelligence agencies The law will enable significant rationalization and improvements to those two agencies' operation, as well as rational use of their resources and increased speed of information exchange, both when gathering and analyzing data, it was explained. The aim of the law is to create the environment necessary for the continuation of the defense system reform and to achieve international standards in that field, but it should also represent an overall institutional and legal framework for the VOA and VBA operation as part of Serbia's unified security and intelligence system, as well as strengthen the mechanisms for democratic and civilian control of military security services.
