A new ethnic Albanian political party, to be active in the southern municipalities of Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac, has been established. The party is called the Democratic Union of Albanians (DUA), and was formed when a Bujanovac party with the same name, led by Mejdi Zeciri, merged with Ramiz Zulfiju Citizen Group from Presevo, and the Party for Democratic Integration, headed by Redzep Abazi, from Medvedja. "The party seat will be in Bujanovac, and we will soon start gathering signatures to have it registered," Zeciri told FoNet news agency. "People at the helm of the party will rotate every four years," Zeciri explained, and said that the first leader would come from Presevo. He also stated that locally, "each branch will act independently", while they will act together on the national level. "We will have joint suggestions for the National Council of Albanians, but we will also take part individually in the next parliamentary elections in Serbia with our candidate for MP," said Zeciri.
