The Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) is marking the 10th anniversary since the Ibarska road murder of four of its members. Veselin Boskovic, Zvonko Osmajlic, Dragan Vusurovic and Vucko Rakocevic were also remembered in church and cemetery ceremonies in Belgrade this Saturday. Before October 5, 2000, after October 5, and until recently, before [Operation] Saber, after, and during Saber. We faced obstruction constantly, either from police, courts or prosecution," claims the lawyer. The Milosevic regime fell on October 5, 2000, while Operation Saber was launched by the Serbian police (MUP), in the wake of the Djindjic assassination in March 2003. According to the verdict, the order to kill Draskovic came from former head of the State Security Department (RDB) Radomir Markovic, who was sentenced to 40 years in jail. Former JSO commander Milorad Ulemek received the same sentence for organizing the murder, as did JSO member Nenad Ilic, who was the driver of the truck used to cause the traffic accident. The Milosevic regime customs chief, Mihalj Kertes, was sent to jail for one year and six months, while then traffic police chief, Dragisa Dinic and his deputy Vidan Mijailovic received ten and six months respectively for aiding the perpetrators after the act. Former Belgrade RDB branch head Milan Radonjic, and former chief of Belgrade police Branko Djuric were acquitted of all charges.
