The municipality of Presevo in southern Serbia does not agree with the announced shutting down of TV Presevo. Municipal President Ragmi Mustafa said this will be pointed out at the next meeting of the Coordinating Body for Southern Serbia. "We will appeal on the Coordinating Body to make sure this does not happen. The founder of the local television is the Municipality of Presevo, which has each year applied regularly to the Republic Broadcasting Agency to receive a frequency, which, for some reason, has never been granted," Mustafa was quoted as saying. "It is impermissible that Presevo should be left without its local television and we will strongly oppose this, all the more so since the neighboring municipality of Bujanovac, for example, has one television station financed by the municipal assembly, and another private station, and both were given licenses to broadcast," he said. It is expected that the next session of the Coordinating Body, chaired State Administration and Local Self-Governance Minister Milan Markovic, will be held on September 10 in Belgrade.
