The Novi Sad police received four new automobiles and 80 vests from the city administration. Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said that this donation will help a lot with the effectiveness of the police force. Novi Sad police receive donation Novi Sad Mayor Igor Pavlicic said that the city is trying to help the police as much as it can. Dacic said that the police and local government in Novi Sad have excellent cooperation. He said that there will be a similar cooperation agreement made with Belgrade, adding that such cooperation in difficult economic times means a lot to the police. Pavlicic said that that help for the police is very important, because some of the main problems in the city are unemployment and safety. He said that the value of the donation is about RSD 7.7mn (EUR 8,500), adding that the local government has given a total of RSD 27mn (EUR 300,000) this year to police. After the donation ceremony, the gendarmerie performed three short demonstrative exercises at the Novi Sad beach, Strand.
