SDP supports stripping Mugoša of immunity

Montenegrin Deputy Parliamentary Speaker Rifat Rastoder said that his SDP party will support stripping DPS official Miomir Mugosa of his immunity. “It is difficult to say right now because we need to see all the facts. If this is needed to get to the bottom of the case, of course we will support it,” Rastoder said. Rastoder is also the vice president of the ruling Socialist Democratic Party. Earlier this week, Podgorica Mayor Miomir Mugosa was accused of physically attacking a newspaper editor and his photographer. The first man of the Montenegrin capital allegedly teamed up with his son Miljan to assault daily Vijesti's Mihailo Jovovic and Boris Pejovic.

SDP supports stripping Mugoša of immunity

Montenegrin MPs will debate the stripping of the Democratic Party of Socialists official’s immunity after a request was submitted by the Administrative Committee of the parliament which makes decisions on hese issues.

Chief State Prosecutor Ranka Ćarapić said that the committee, based on the stats and documents gathered, did not find a reason to initiate the process against Mugoša.

Earlier this week, Podgorica Mayor Miomir Mugoša was accused of physically attacking a newspaper editor and his photographer.

The first man of the Montenegrin capital allegedly teamed up with his son Miljan to assault daily Vijesti's Mihailo Jovović and Boris Pejović.
