Srbijagas General Director Dusan Bajatovic says it was agreed in principle that Gazprom would provide storage of 200 million cu m of gas in Hungary for Serbia. The meeting between representatives of the Russian gas and oil giant, Germany's EON and Serbia's state owned natural gas enterprise took place in Vienna, Austria, on Thursday. Serbia to store Russian gas in Hungary “This means that Gazprom Export should provide the necessary gas quantity and storage capacities,” Bajatovic said in a telephone statement for Tanjug. “Practically, this will mean that 200 million cubic meters of gas will be secured for the Serbian market in Hungary and it will be drawn in quantities of three million cubic meters a day in case of a crisis,” said he. All contracts regulating the deal are expected to be signed in three weeks' time. Despite the promises heard from the government, the construction of Serbia's own gas storage facility in Banatski Dvor has not been completed, although the filling of its capacities with gas also started recently.
