The U.S. thinks very highly of reforms undertaken in the Serbian judiciary, says Acting Supreme Court President Nata Mesarovic. She said that during the visit of a Serbian judicial delegation to Washington, there had been talk of expected American assistance and support to the reform process. "U.S. impressed by judicial reform process" “Specifically, the assistance is in the form of equipment, education of Serbian judges and prosecutors in the application of new laws, particularly the law on the seizure of assets and the law on criminal liability of economic entities,” Mesarovic told VoA. The Serbian delegation, headed by Justice Minister Snezana Malovic, spoke in Washington with U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and other Secretariat officials. Mesarovic added that she had discussed the organization of war crimes trials in Serbia, and support to Serbia’s initiative for those convicted by the Hague Tribunal to serve their prison terms in their home countries, a matter that would be discussed, she said, during today’s meetings at the State Secretariat.
