Opposition Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) officials say that the government is "entering a tacit recognition of Kosovo". For this reason, Jovan Palalic told a news conference in Belgrade on Monday, the government is avoiding parliamentary debates on the matter. "Tacit recognition of Kosovo taking place" Palalic also stated that the entire process of negotiating for Serbia to be included on the EU white Schengen list is hidden from the public, and from the state’s most important institutions, such as the Serbian parliament. “Instead of telling parliament clearly what the European Union’s stance is, what the policies of Serbia are when the white Schengen list is in question, and what the problems are, the government is trying to avoid parliamentary debate when the Kosovo question is at hand,” Palalic said. He continued to state that it is obvious there is a problem with the white Schengen list regarding Serbia's citizens that reside in Kosovo. “This rule of avoiding parliament leads to bad solutions, and this bad solution which is emerging is that the visa-free regime will not be implemented for our citizens living on the territory of Kosovo,” Palalic said.
