FM Vuk Jeremic will not be attending the Croatia Summit in Dubrovnik, after Zagreb broke an agreement concerning participation of Serbian and Kosovo officials. Jeremic said that Serbia wanted better relations with Croatia despite the numerous open issues between the two countries. Jeremic cancels Dubrovnik trip “A precise agreement was reached with the organizers of the Croatia Summit over the format of the Serbian delegation’s participation, and that of representatives of the temporary institutions in Pristina,“ he explained. “At the last moment, the Croatian side circumvented that agreement, and, sadly, we have no other choice than to call off our participation in Dubrovnik,“ the minister said. With regards to Croatian President Stjepan Mesic’s comments about Kosovo in Strasbourg yesterday, Jeremic said that “statements that Serbs need to learn more, and to relinquish Kosovo, constitute an insult and interference in internal Serbian affairs.“ However, he stressed that Serbia wanted “the best possible relations with Croatia, despite the large number of unresolved issues.“ “We’ll continue to do everything to resolve them in the best will, in cooperation with the government in Zagreb,“ said Jeremic.
