Koštunica writes to RS premier

Opposition DSS leader Vojislav Kostunica wrote a letter to the Republic of Srpska (RS) PM Milorad Dodik, reports said. In it, Serbia's former prime minister for two terms said that the citizens of the Bosnian Serb entity should decide in a referendum whether Bosnia-Herzegovina should join NATO. Kostunica writes to RS premier "I believe that at this fatefully important time for the Serb nation there should be sufficient wisdom, and that means that the responsibility for the destiny and future of the nation must be handed over to the people," Kostunica stated. "The public is well aware of my opinion on the relationship between the Serb people, Serbia, RS and NATO," he continued, but added that he also respects the fact there are other opinions. "However, what I wish to stress is that the importance of this issue is larger than any individual, any individual party and organization, and that only the Serb people and the citizens of Serbia and RS have the full legitimacy to take responsibility and solve the issue of joining NATO freely and democratically in a referendum." Kostunica also wrote it is a well known fact that he had always been the truest friend of the RS, as well as that the people of Srpska have Serbia, and Serbia's successful future, in their hearts.
