Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic says there are no new conditions for Serbia joining the EU and that integration depends, for the most part, on Serbia alone. "There are no new conditions. Like all other candidates, Serbia must fulfil only the so-called Copenhagen criteria. Outside support is welcome, so as not to have any opponents along this pathway, but the most important thing is that we ourselves want to join Europe and to do what is asked of us," Jeremic said in an interview with Radio and Television Vojvodina. Jeremic: No new conditions for EU “Serbian diplomacy has scored great successes in the past two weeks in achieving all three of the country’s foreign-policy priorities,” the minister said. "The latest developments in New York, Brussels and Novi Sad have demonstrated that Serbia has been successful along its pathway of integration with Europe through the promise of visa liberalization, the issue of preserving Kosovo using strictly diplomatic means, and in spreading regional cooperation," he said. "There were many people who have criticized Serbia's foreign policy, considering its objectives irreconcilable or inconsistent. We have now demonstrated that this is in fact possible,” Jeremic concluded, stressing that he was confident that Serbia would be successful at the end of this journey of unknown duration.
