Serb Progressive Party (SNS) leader Tomislav Nikolic says he will first be offering cooperation to the DSS-NS coalition and Radicals, and only then the DS. Nikolic, however, said that there was a chance that the Democratic Party (DS) and SNS could form governments on their own in Vozdovac and Zemun. SNS: Conditions for cooperation with DS He told daily Blic that it was “natural to first offer cooperation to parties that are in the opposition at state level, who we could have a majority with in Zemun, which are the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), New Serbia (NS) and the Serb Radical Party (SRS).” The SNS leader said that there had never been any talk of the DS and SNS supporting one another in minority governments in Zemun or Vozdovac. “This is speculation. That was never a topic of discussion between us and the DS. Our goal is to try to make a coalition in Zemun without them, and for them to try and make one in Vozdovac. We have a majority in Zemun if everyone supports us, and they have a majority in Vozdovac if the DSS goes with them,” Nikolic said. The SNS leader said that it was hard for him to negotiate with DS, since he wanted to create two blocs at state level. He said that voting at three polling stations in Vozdovac had been annulled in order to receive an advantage of one mandate. “If the DSS and NS lose that one seat, and the Socialists get it, the DS reckons on making a coalition in Vozdovac without the SNS. So, it’s possible in both municipalities that each of us forms a coalition without talking to the other,” Nikolic explained. He said that the SNS could only enter a coalition with the DS if responsibility was equally shared. Tomislav Nikolic (FoNet archive)
