According to the unofficial version of the European Commission’s report, Serbia has completed most of the needed conditions for visa liberalization. Awaiting the official report from the EC on how much progress the countries of the Western Balkans have made in fulfilling these conditions, another unofficial version of the report has reached the public. Visa liberalization decision likely in June The European Stability Initiative (ESI) has seen the document, and states that the EC has reported that Macedonia has fulfilled all conditions, Serbia and Montenegro most, while Bosnia-Herzegovina and Albania still have to work on fulfilling conditions for visa liberalization. The report ranks the five regional countries based on expert evaluations. Macedonia has a ranking of 1, which means that it has completed all or almost all of its necessary tasks. Serbia and Montenegro received a 1.75 ranking, which means that they have fulfilled most of the conditions. Bosnia-Herzegovina and Albania have a 3, and according to the ESI, this means that “they are on the right road, but are not fulfilling all necessary conditions.” ESI Senior Analyst Alexandra Stiglmayer said that it is possible that Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro would enter the visa-free regime for the traveling to countries of the European Union in January of next year. Also on Wednesday, APA news agency reported that the decision on the visa regime for the region's countries would most likely be made on June 15 when EU ministers are due to meet in Luxembourg.
