Former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic has called on the Hague Tribunal to drop charges of genocide in Bosnia-Herzegovina against him. In his latest motion submitted by his legal advisor Peter Robinson, the defense express its belief that the Tribunal has no authority in the case because of the existence of an immunity agreement struck between Karadzic and Richard Holbrooke as “an official with the real or assumed authorities of the UN Security Council and its bodies.” Karadzic claims immunity The trial chamber presided over by Judge Iain Bonomy will debate and rule on Karadzic’s latest motion. That trail chamber has already stated in a ruling on an earlier Karadzic motion that even if the agreement with Holbrooke did exist, the former Bosnian Serb leader’s so-called immunity before the court would not be of any importance, and that it could only be taken into consideration during sentencing.

The trial chamber presided over by Judge Iain Bonomy will debate and rule on Karadžić’s latest motion.
