MPs end traffic safety law debate
Parliament on Friday in Belgrade ended a debate on amendments to the draft Law on Safety of Traffic on the Roads.

Parliament on Friday in Belgrade ended a debate on amendments to the draft Law on Safety of Traffic on the Roads. The session will continue on Monday, when MPs will also consider amendments to laws related to general safety of products and electronic commerce. MPs end traffic safety law debate On Friday, Infrastructure Minister Milutin Mrkonjic said the amendments to the traffic safety draft improved it, and explained that 71 out of 244 were accepted. Mrkonjic said that the application of the law, scheduled to start six months after it is adopted, "will be the most important", when he and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic will "try to improve some things additionally". He conceded that MPs were right to point out that the quality of the country's road infrastructure should be a priority, considering the role of this in overall traffic safety.
