The opposition Liberal-Democrats (LDP) say information on the party’s financiers is well-known, "which could not be said" of the ruling Democratic Party (DS). Speaking to B92, LDP leader Cedomir Jovanovic queried the identity of the DS’s supposed backers, adding that it was well-known to the public who financed that party, though he did not name any names. LDP: Financing sources no secret Jovanovic said that the information on his party’s financiers was public knowledge and that the National Bank of Serbia should publish it, adding that the parliamentary financial committee also had this data. “The Liberal Democratic Party does not have any sensational financiers, the people who support us are more or less known to the public. They are not the owners of Luka, Mia from Blaca or companies that are named in the report you showed me before the show. I think that it is shameful because it is not true,” he said. Jovanovic announced that he would be proposing that future election campaigns should be free of charge, which would help assure transparency in the financing of the political parties.
