Close cooperation between the EU and Serbia is needed in tackling the economic crisis, say Javier Solana and Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic. According to a statement from the cabinet of the EU foreign and security policies chief, he and Jeremic had “a very good and friendly meeting,” where they discussed relations between the EU and Serbia, especially the latter’s European perspective and the chances of speedy visa liberalization for Serbia and the region. The meeting was also a chance for Solana and the Serbian foreign minister to look at the general situation in the Western Balkans, the statement from Solana’s cabinet concludes. Jeremic met earlier yesterday with EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn.
