Third and fourth-year students at Pristina University’s Philosophy Faculty, relocated to Ranilug, have gone on hunger strike, according to KiM Radio. The reason for the strike is that they are displeased with the decision of the Serbian Education Ministry to suspend classes in Ranilug and move them to Kosovska Mitrovica. However, we only had their declarative support and we received nothing in writing. The strike is the final option left to us to find a way to force the authorities to react and solve the problems that the students have been having since the beginning of the school year,” she said. Djordjevic added that the original plan had been to move the whole department to Kosovska Mitrovica, but that this had been shelved, and it was later proposed that the lectures and exams of only third and fourth-year students should be moved. “The Serbian Education Ministry told us that they were on our side and that the question of the third and fourth-year students would be settled to their satisfaction. However, that too was only promised verbally,” she explained.
