Representatives of the international missions in Kosovo have discussed issues of cultural-historical heritage in the absence of Pristina and Belgrade officials. "[On Tuesday] UNMIK held a planned meeting with experts on issues of cultural heritage.Sadly, neither Belgrade nor Pristina experts attended it, even though the meeting was of a purely technical nature," said an UNMIK spokesman, daily Koha Ditore reports. However, UNMIK's initiative did not meet with the support of the Kosovo institutions. "These talks could not be held because of the fact that Serbia has not recognized the independent and sovereign state of Kosovo, and it's not possible to discuss technical issues with a country that has not recognized an independent and sovereign state," said Kosovo Assembly Speaker Jakup Krasniqi.
