A Serbian delegation will for the first time chair the Global Ministerial Environment Forum of the United Nations Environment Program, UNEP, in Nairobi, Kenya. The delegation will be in this African country Feb. 16-20, headed by Minister for Environment Oliver Dulic, his ministry announced on Saturday. Serbia chairs UNEP session in Nairobi Serbia took over from Hungary the Chair of the Governing Council of the Global Ministerial Environment Forum of the UNEP on Jan. 1, as the representative of the region of eastern Europe. During its two-year mandate, Serbia will chair the UNEP top managing body which rallies environment ministers from 58 UN member-states. The UNEP is one of the key agencies from within the UN system. It participates in the directing of funds from the Global Environment Fund.

Serbia chairs UNEP session in Nairobi

Serbia took over from Hungary the Chair of the Governing Council of the Global Ministerial Environment Forum of the UNEP on Jan. 1, as the representative of the region of eastern Europe.

During its two-year mandate, Serbia will chair the UNEP top managing body which rallies environment ministers from 58 UN member-states.
